    Shauna, DPT, MBA

Graduate of University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in Florida (2007), Dr. Shauna started Pakolea LLC in 2009. Originally born and raised on Maui, she came to the Hilo with her family in November 2014. Her son, Keliʻikoa, goes went Nāwahīokalaniʻōpuʻu, a Hawaiian immersion school and he speaks fluent Hawaiian and English. He now attends Kamehameha Schools Hawaii. Outside of work Shauna loves playing softball, doing interval training using Kettlebells, powerlifting, as well as Strongman training. She is a student of strength and believes that making an effort to change what you dislike about your life is the first step but having someone to walk that journey with you keeps you consistent as well as motivated.

She enjoys watching movies with a good story regardless of genre and traveling to new places.

What patients like most about her is that she is tough but compassionate. She loves showing them that anything is possible no matter how crazy the idea. She is a master modifier so she can figure out how to break an activity down into small steps so the goal can be reached.

    No excuses.

Motto: "One day you won't be able to do this, today is NOT that day."

Thereafter, I worked at Wahiawa Hospital treating patients in outpatient, skilled nursing, home care, and acute settings.

My passion for this job is driven by seeing people enjoying the best quality of life when coming back from an injury and seeing patients become the best they can be.

During my free time I enjoy hobbies such as lifting weights, surfing, and hanging out with friends and family.

Aloha! I’m Gaylynn. I graduated high school from Ke Kula o Nawahiokalaniopuu in Kea’au, HI. I am currently a junior in college pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Physical and exercise science. Fun fact: I need to have matching portions of all of my food on my plate

    Brianne

I have my Bachelors of Arts in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. To be honest, I just really needed a job after graduating college. Little did I know that this “temporary thing” would lead me to actually enjoying it. Now I’m heading back to school this fall to finish up my final prerequisites, after this year I’ll then be applying into DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy) programs.

Fun fact: I’m now a semi-professional interior painter, by semi-professional I mean self titled per helping assist with our new incoming clinic. Despite getting more paint on my clothes than the walls, If the whole PT thing doesn’t work out I got a back up plan.
